Freakin' Billboards
Freaking
(frek.ing)
transitive verb: To streak - especially with
color
We would like to welcome Freakin' Billboard as an Everything
Indiana supplier. At Freakin' Billboard their concept
is brilliant in its simplicity. They recycle highway
billboard art. They personally clean and cut the
vinyl, turning it into amazing things. Due to the
grand size of a billboard (usually 48ft. x 14ft.) the color
and effects on the vinyl are just freakin' cool. When
you carry one of their unique designs, it's like carrying a
recycled piece of art. And you can feel doubly good
about supporting Freakin' Billboard because their
repurposing of all vinyl keeps it out of landfills!
Freakin' Billboard was created when two college
acquaintances departed from years in the helping professions
of psychology and occupational therapy and struck out
looking for a new learning experience that offered both
creativity and flexibility. They found it lying on the
garage floor. Armed with unlimited access to billboard
vinyl and absolutely no design, sewing, or business
experience, they set out to make "freakin' stuff" and keep
the vinyl from going to the landfills.

Herbal Arts
Made with organics, Herbal Art's
handcrafted soaps and skincare products offer customers a
way to feel indulgent while treating them to a healthy skin
experience. They offer gentle, yet vibrant soaps in a
variety of colors and fragrances that look, smell, and fell
delicious! This sensory vacation offers the added
benefits of exotic butters, oils, organically grown herbs,
and botanicals in their soaps and skincare products.
All of their "naturals" are original and authentic in
nature. Artist Brian Paffen has personally developed,
designed, and created his own brand, "Honey & Shea" which is
produced locally in Fishers, Indiana applying advanced
soap-casting techniques. At Herbal Art, the feel,
fragrance, and therapeutic benefits of their products are
all equally important. They use specialized techniques
to insure their products' success. These include:
prepping raw materials, hand-slicing and measuring solid and
liquid ingredients, grinding herbs, manipulating
temperature(s), and calculating formulas and recipes.
Craftsmanship does not end there. They also apply
endless hours into packaging, labeling, and ensuring that
the customer gains honest and complete information about
"naturals". All of their soap products are made using
pure vegetable oils, not lard created from animal fat.
Although vegetable oils are more costly, they are more
beneficial to your skin. They practice vegetarian
standards and all naturals are hypoallergenic. Their
products do not contain alcohols, detergents or chemicals,
petroleum, mineral oil, SLS(s), harmful Parabens or Lanolin.
They only use natural pigments for coloring(s).
King Korn
King Korn Gourmet Popcorn Company was founded
in 2005 out of a love for family and an entrepreneurial
spirit. Sam and Ruth Buckles raised their kids with a desire
to always do a little extra, work a little harder, find a
business to do on their own. So, it was natural that their
daughters and sons-in-law would find themselves discussing
opening a company together. When the local caramel corn
supplier lapsed for a holiday season, the family knew what
they would do. With each family member contributing their
own unique skills to the business, King Korn was born. Now
located in a shop on the Buckles property in Cromwell,
Indiana, three generations of family gather to create King
Korn's irresistible popcorn.

ARE YOU A LOCAL?
In these tough economic times, people are
watching every penny and looking for the lowest price. While box stores and
chain restaurants may look like they are offering the best value, how does
this impact us and our community in the long run? When you shop at an
independently owned business, your entire community benefits. Here are
some reasons to Think Local - Buy Local - Be Local:
♦Buy Local - Support Yourself: Studies have shown that when you buy
from an independent, locally owned business, rather than a nationally owned
business, significantly more of your money is used to make purchases from
other local businesses, service providers and farms ---continuing to
strengthen the economic base of the community.
♦Support Community Groups: Non-profit organizations receive more
than double the support from small business owners than they do from large
businesses.
♦Keep Your Community Unique: Where we shop, where we eat and have
fun - all of it makes our community home. Unique businesses are an integral
part of the distinctive character of a place. Tourism businesses also
benefit from this. When people go on vacation they typically seek
destinations that offer them the sense of being someplace unique.
♦Get Better Service: Local businesses often hire people with a
better understanding of the products they are selling and take more time to
get to know customers.
♦Invest in Community: Local businesses are owned by people who live
in the community, are less likely to leave, and are more invested in the
community's future.
♦Encourage Local Prosperity: Economic research shows that
entrepreneurs and skilled workers are more likely to invest and settle in
communities that preserve their unique businesses and distinctive character.
